A few things I noticed:
- Bed and breakfast is already a special venue and can be easily selected. Hotel and motel are not.
- There does seem to be a variety of things to do, similar to clubs.
- I really love that there is a senior living community option.
- Archery does unfortunately seem to be only for kids.
- The imaginary friends dolls are creepy.
- I do like how many new activities there seem to be.
- 13 lots is not bad, but not great either. There does seem to be a lot of empty space between each lot.
Some questions I still have:
- When I choose 1 night stays, does that mean I cannot elect to stay there for more nights if I want? Or is it like vacation rentals, I rent them one day at the time with a fixed rent?
- Can you live and run a custom venue from your house (as you can with small businesses), or own and run it like retail venues, or is it just a community lot?
- Can you work at a custom venue and play it as an active career, or is it just NPCs?
- Can you use the slides for the playgrounds over pools (to create more options for pool slides and water parks)?
- Eating was an activity, and you could hire a cook (I think), but would you be able to use it to run restaurants?
- How will a custom venue work with say bars, espressobars and stalls - will they generate an NPC? Or will I hire that role? Will that role be able to use the objects properly?
- Is there a way to charge money, or to be charged money, to go to a getaway (similar to vacation rentals?)
- Do you have to set a specific schedule? They showed one with only one activity, but does that mean that everyone has to do that activity at that time? Could you set activity options without setting a time?
I read in a blog that Archewry can be used by all ages freom Child to Elder.
I'm so happy we can stay for just one night. I play on rotation, and I think only a few of my sims exploring the new pack will stay longer than 1 night. I never spend say a full week with the same household. When on vacation to Granite Falls and Selvadorada (I assume those lots function like vacational rentals) when time os up, I normally get the option to extend my stay. Might be just one more night, though. I don't quite see why runaway retreats should be different.

My understanding is that when we plan a runaway stay, we will choose the management. I think that if the lot has a bar, we might also choose a bartender. If we have a sim with the cam managwement career (?), I guess s/he will appear on that list to pick from. So - on a low end computer, I guess it's unwise to add 100 objects that needs to be served, it might slow down things a bit. Need to learn more about what new activities require staff, I assume the Arcvhery might, especially if it's a child camp, but it would make sense if the camp manager will serve those activites...

Simmerville I'm also a rotational player, and I think Getaways will help keep gameplay fresh and interesting.
