I'm one of those who never could quite love Sims 3, but Sims 2 is still one of my favorite games of all time. So I'm already happier with Sims 4 than I ever was with Sims 3. So I'm only going to mention the things I do NOT like (except the gallery--I love the gallery.) If I don't mention it, you can assume I like it.
Do not like:
No family tree! This one's important!
When I load up my game I want to be presented with the view of my town so I can choose which house to play OR choose to go into CAS. I do NOT want to be sent straight to CAS. The way this stuff worked in the first 3 games wasn't broken, and didn't need fixing.
I miss auto-roofs. I am awful at roofs.
I love that the two little neighborhoods are connected, and I can see how with future EPs this will allow for a whole lot of expansion, but "little" is the operative word here. For now, there is simply WAY too little space. I'm crossing my fingers that some modder will come up with a way to attach empty versions of the neighborhoods we already have, at least. (It's kind of giving me bad Simcity 2013 flashbacks. Ugh.)
Edge scrolling issues.
Everything else, I either like it (gallery, multitasking, the way the game and sims look,) or I don't really care about either way (babies, toddlers, pools.)
