What I like and don't like about the Sims 4
Likes, I love the Create a Sims, I am finally able to create sims like real people I know, however no difference in heights, come on. All men are not shorter than the women. And I am sorry, if you want a game about life we have little and big people in real life. So height to me is an issue, one that EA should have addressed long ago. The clothing is very limited, however I am glade they did away with hats and hair combos. Color choices are very limited as well as patterns, for the player's that love creating clothing this is a great lose.
The Build mode is good when it comes to finally being able to move rooms and duplicating them or the whole house if you want. The roof, I feel is more user friendly. So for future expansions this will make building apartments and resorts easier.
The down side, the reason I wanted adjustable heights for walls was to be able to build L or U shape stairs, none of that is now possible since the cheats do not work here. The furniture is very limited in style, color and defiantly patterns, what they did offer I do like but not enough choices. You don't have the option of Moveobjects, so arrangement is also very limited. The lot size is also limited and very few lots are available in the world. So for all creative players that love to build, like myself EA has forgot all about us as players, Sims 3 was and still is a better medium for the creative player, sims 4 doesn't come close to what I was expecting here.
The world is the worse part of the game, I feel locked to my lot, and I am sorry to see sims going backward and not forward here. The style of home is also a let down, since it all looks the same.
Cost, the game is way to expensive for what you do get, here EA should refund 3/4 our money back, the game is only worse about 20 dollars at most.
Playing, no lag or glitches on my end of the game here. It does play very smoothly and the multi tasking is a very nice touch.
However playing is all about going to work, cooking, cleaning dishes or commodes and sleeping there isn't much time for anything else. Now sorry guys, that to me makes for a very boring game.
What they should have done here was have the sims only work 4 hours at most, make tons of money to be able to go places and buy cool things. Their day should be long enough to enjoy them selves beside taking care of bodily functions. So once again you can't use the cheat testingcheatenabled on and clicking on a mail box to give your sims the life you wish you could have, I spend enough time cleaning house and taking care of my bodily functions without sitting for hours to make sure a toon does the same. I also found the emotion thing to consuming, always trying to find out what up set which sims and trying to take care of yet another body function (emotions).
I haven't tried the babies or the missing toddlers, to be honest I always put the cheats on while playing them. LOL.
What I was hoping for, was a game with textures, colors, and patterns that you could apply to a range of objects, clothing, furniture, and housing. Blank textures, and blank patterns with a color wheel so that you could create a vase array of patterns, to mix an match now that would be the creative tool for sims. A CAW like game that you could create a whole world with your own style, a world you could paint, build and apply roads as you played. Now to me that would be a creative players game. To be able to have adjustable wall heights, say every 2 feet so you could build real homes with L and U shape stairs and different room heights like a split level home, and since steep stairs went out with the dark ages, and all without a cheat on. Oh ya do away with lots altogether or at least make them adjustable so you could make any size lot you wanted.
I want my sims to have the options to do the things I don't have time or money to do in real life, while still being about to sit, sleep and interact with the amazing new home or world I built them. It would be cool to have premade worlds for players that don't like building. Also make it to where CC can't get into your game and ruin it.
To make the create a sims unlimited to where you could make weird aliens it that was your thing, this is the only creative medium game that I know of, why not make it as it was intend to be, creative in every aspect, and fun with sims doing outrageous things that make us laugh, not bore us with how real our own lives can some time be.
