I consider myself a Sims veteran, I have played and followed the game since the Sims 1 was released. I'm really gutted that my first ever post to the forum is going to be a bad one.
After playing for around 10 hours of game play my overall impression is pretty poor, I do like some of the new features such as the emotions, multi tasking, the one time maid and CAS but not enough to outweigh the cons.
Things I don't like:
-No colour wheel (This was a huge factor in TS3, to take it back to the TS1/TS2 level makes no sense to me)
-No open world! Again a huge step back that makes no sense to me, this and the colour wheel were the selling points of TS3 on launch
-The graphics are TERRIBLE. I chopped and changed all my settings up because I thought it was a problem on my end... it wasn't.
-No cars
-No Toddlers
-No Pools
-No Basement
-No Edit town
-No repairmen
-The camera controls are annoying and the edge scrolling doesn't even work
-No Dishwasher or waste disposal?!
-Hate the way sims go to work
-Loading screens
-Crashing (Not due to graphic problems)
To be honest I could go on forever, the whole game to me feels very basic, which is a shame because I feel like it had the potential to be so much more. I have been more impressed by stuff packs than this whole base game and by reading other simmers comments I can see that I am not alone in thinking this.
