If your sim die's laughing, then the comedy (or whatever) you wanted to hand down to your kids is lost. Make a 'generational' skill book+ (it's a blank book that devours a skill book and becomes a diary that the sim can fill up.) You can leave the book on the book shelf for future generations. For every generation that uses it, the book gains an almost instant skill gain up to level 3, but needs a skill book to devour.

Imagine the family cook book (perfect hot fudge sauce), the memoirs of a 'leet' hacker or musicians 'book or rhymes'...
