First, the good:
What I liked
Moods and moodlets. Cool reward system.
Interactions based on moods.
Overall smoothness and less lag from sims 3.
Nice, crisp clear graphics.
Game really feels like it has gotten a breath of fresh air.
Next, the bad:
What I didn't like
General instability of the game and random crashes for no real reason. Feels a bit rushed.
Sims not putting away tools after doing something, making interactions look strange. For example, holding a screwdriver while flipping pancakes.
Wait, what... no dishwashers, food processors, curved stairways, basements (how does an evil, insane genius keep his experiments hidden? I need my secret underground lair!!), and other things... again, game feels rushed... missing quite a bit from past sims base game experiences. I paid $70 for a full game, and it feels like a solid chunk got left out.
Now for the ugly:
Demon baby sims! Glad you guys fixed that! Whew!
Also, NPC sim families don't seem to have lives of their own when I'm not interacting with them. For example, my fiance doesn't have a "girls night out" with her friends if I'm not with her.
Game doesn't autosave logically. For example when you load into another lot or switch between build/live modes. Please fix! This would make the random crashes easier to bear...
Suggestions?
Seriously, please fix the game to release condition, not some late staged buggy beta that feels like it's missing core game play features. Hot tubs would be a start.
Overall thoughts?
Good solid base game, with a bit of polish could be a solid diamond in EA's crown.
