Where to start... I guess I need to say that I know the sims 4 is a new installment and can not be an exact replica of what we found in the sims 3(lets exclude all those lovely little bugs), but I do expect it to have many of the things we loved about the sims 3 plus new and more awesome components as well that make the game an improvement on an already outstanding franchise.
As a loyal sims player, I am feeling totally let down by the sims 4. There are so many options missing from this newest installment that I dont even know where to start. I must also say, though that the totally improved genetics options and the visual beauty of this game are a major thumbs up. Even though there is a serious lack of options in eye color, hair color, clothing, and on and on.
That being said, where is my customizable color palette? Texture options? This is one MAJOR loss in the sims 4. One of the best things about this franchise is the ability to completely customize your worlds and sims. Another major issue is the the severe lack of lots in these two worlds. I have also played around with the lot options and I am dissapointed with the available options.
Is anyone else irritated by the need to "travel" to the park or any other lots in your world? More and more time spent waiting for loading screens. Ugggg!
These may not seems like a lot, but there are many other issues that I have noticed that I miss from the sims 3. This game feels like a beta(in some cases) to me.
I have also noticed that we can't build pools. Maybe I am just not seeing this option, but so far no luck.
One thing I do kind of like is the "dig" experience. Sometimes it's predictable by looking at this size/shape/color of mound though. I also have to give credit for the more advanced sims in this installment, definitely a step forward in that direction but it seems like it has come at great cost to other features of the franchise.
Here's to hoping for some updates that bring more of the previous sims into this installment.
