What I played before: TS2. I bought every expansion pack. Probably devoted hundreds, if not thousands, of hours to playing, modding and making custom content and machinima with TS2. (I did not play TS3 at all.)
What I like about TS4:
Appealing, colorful graphics. Ease of use in CAS and Build modes. Traits and moods. Multi-tasking Sims. Small neighbourhoods.
What I don't like:
Lack of family trees, cars and stores. Lack of ease of use with the camera. I miss the NPCs such as the burglars, policemen and fire fighters.
Suggestions:
Bring back family trees, cars and stores. I want to be able to move the camera with greater ease, to be able to zoom in more closely and use more extreme angles.
Overall:
There are good new things about the game. Specifically the new CAS mode, Sim traits and multi-tasking Sims. However, in terms of content, the game feels disturbingly lightweight for being TS4. As such, I feel it is overpriced. I'd think twice about buying EPs.
