So many people have said it so well.
I liked pretty much 2 things about the game: Great graphics (if a lil bit cartoonish), and great CAS (although still a bit limited with style).
But overall? I'm thinking of getting my money back. $70 for an incredibly, insultingly stripped down game. Seriously? Is this how you treat your loyal fans, EA? Giving them a minimum for a max price? When's the last time you reviewed the other Sims games? ... this is a giant slap in the face to us die-hard Simmers. The hype created for this game was astounding. And so we thought it would actually be that great. Guess we should have known better. Just because you added emotions to the game does not render it "amazing" or "next generation" Simming. No, it's anything but. You've actually taken an enormous step backwards in the design of Sims 4.
Allow me to enlighten you, if you haven't already picked up the vibe from other posts:
-Neighborhoods are ridiculously small. Seriously?
-Pools: Did you just not want to do the work?
-Kids: taking away basic family function is ..well, ridiculous. We need babies, toddlers, etc. In the appropriate sizes and behaviors. Part of the Sim world, ya know.
-Terrain: Sooo, let me get this straight...no hills? mountains? knolls? Just a nice flat world all around huh.... Beyond disappointing and insulting to the building community.
-No vehicles: again, that's part of the Sim experience. Part of the life you're there to create.
-No weather. You're taking away the reality of a Sim life. Not kewl. All Sims game have weather. Why you'd take it away from the latest Sim game is ...baffling.
-CAS: great pull options. No height ability? limited personality traits even though you hyped up "unique" & vastly "next generation" play. Not so.
-Work: Sims go to work, but there's interaction with said work/career. No transportation. Again.
-Inability for Sims to swim or fish anywhere they choose. Seriously? Can you please limit us some more? >_<
-No Edit Town option. This is a must in any Sim game. We need to be able to add lots, in any size (64x64, as it has been at the largest).
-Game performance: playing this on a high end gaming pc and this is taking up way too much usage. Definitely needs optimization from your end, EA.
-Loading screens: what's with the long load ins with every few changes? Seriously? We were promised sleek, fast, play. This is incredibly annoying and time consuming.
I could go on. All in all, this Sims 4 is stripped, bare to the bone basic format. Boring, unexciting, over-hyped.
Why you did this, I don't know, Developers, but I hope you come back with something that we as a Sims community can really enjoy. Fix the incredibly huge mistakes made. Add depth to the game. It's insanely shallow & bleak. Listen to your players. Put in the work. We put in the cash, after all and we expect to get the effort in return. And yes, the cash is more than enough for you to add what is truly necessary for this game. It has the potential, it just needs the work from your team.
Don't continue to disappoint us. Or, no joke, this will be the death of the Sims franchise.
I hope you're smarter than that.
