I've been a fan of The Sims since the original announcement of the first edition of the series.
• What you liked
Not a single thing, as I'm unable to play it.
• What you didn't like
No Mac release, not even a statement promising a planned release. That's simply inexcusable in this day and age, when cross-platform development has ceased to be a big deal, and is trivial to accomplish if your development team is any good.
As far as I can see, TS4 is less functional than TS3 was on first release. Classic features that were much enjoyed by the fan base have been omitted, and the excuses for doing so are extremely thin at best.
The price — it's just too damned expensive for what's in the base release, and given the expectation of a large number of expansion packs to be released.
• Suggestions?
Release a Mac version ASAP.
Commit to a free expansion which will add the missing core features from TS3.
Cut the price significantly.
• Overall thoughts?
Extremely poor show, highly disappointing.
