I have to say when it comes to the moodlets I really like this being the main focus rather then the individual needs. Makes it a lot more interesting as new options of what they can do pop up depending upon mood. And having the traits really play into it, where as before it seemed they had a very minimal effect on sims. Building is a lot easier now and with a lot more options on what can be done, I really love that aspect as well, Though the lack of swimming pools and terrain control was a bit disappointing.
When it came to Sim customization I REALLY love how much control over the detail you can have, now when it comes to trying to make Sims based off of people I know or see it's more accurate....to a point. One thing I was severely disappointed in with this, was how lacking the color control for the hair, eyes, and clothing was. I mean in Sims3 you could control 4 different aspects about the hair, roots, base, highlights. And you pretty much do any shade of any color for the eyes too. But where did that go? Why take that out? My only guess is that there is a hair salon or fashion EP planned on down the road or something because it makes little sense to add extensive customization to the body then limit it so much after having those capabilities in Sims3. The same goes for the clothing, in Sims3 you could choose various options then depending on what it was, edit the coloring of different aspects of each thing and really show off unique and individual tastes in style.
I'm still exploring the game and over all I'm happy with it, Game play wise it's a lot of fun and entertaining. I've only followed one career path so far so I'm looking forward to taking the others and see what happens with them. As for suggestions, I'd suggest perhaps a fashion EP or something that adds the ability to really customize hairstyles/colors as well as the clothing. The other thing that would be fun maybe, is to take away the gender barrier for clothing. Some girls prefer cargo pants for example. And some guys like more feminine clothing.
Overall though I'm happy with the game and am looking forward to see what EP's show up for it and where it will go from here.
