I placed 5 couples in the same neighborhood/district, thinking, "Wow! I'll be able to play these couples as close friends. They will run into each other in the open areas and visit, picnic, and fish together." I figured I'd play each family in a rotation and their kids would be best friends and eventually there would be wedding bells. What happened was that everyone else in both worlds and beyond wandered by, but rarely did one of the actual residing couples. I scratched my head and went visiting. Until then the loading screens had not bothered me....but now, visiting the next door neighbor, those loading screens bumped me out of the desired feeling of story submersion. And it was 'awkward' visiting, the home owners were busy doing their own thing, eating, sleeping, playing on their computers, they weren't interested in guests. If EA is basically remaking a better Sims 2 game, then please add back in the best parts....user created and placed Sims getting preferred treatment, showing up more often at community lots and (especially) showing up in their own neighborhood. And let them keep the fish and produce they gathered while not being actively played.
Eventually, I started up a new game. I think most of my annoyances have been mentioned by other simmers, and I'm sure someone has already mentioned the pixels when breastfeeding. But I missed it. So I'll add that I hate the giant pixels that appear while breastfeeding. I wonder why a baby blanket wasn't added? A fuzzy bit of cloth draped over mom's shoulder and the baby's face and upper body would have been a better choice for modesty.
I do like changing diapers in the crib and look forward to (yeah, yeah, crossing my fingers and wishing upon a star) holding the baby (or a toddler) in a rocking chair and having the animations available to feed, coo, talk to, and snuggle, while watching the cooking channel. Multitasking is appreciated in the new game.
