I really do like the game. It's fun and engaging. I love the multitasking and I love how your emotions make a huge difference in whatever task you're doing. Being able to change aspirations is fantastic as well. That said, there are a couple of things I would like to see:
First, allow for a little more detail on what your played sims who are on another lot can do. If I leave a sim hacking or writing a novel or whatever, have them continue doing so and give the opportunity to do another activity like that without having to switch to them. It's nice that you can have them just take care of needs or work on skills, but it would be far better if you could do more.
Failing that, have the neighborhoods be a bit more open. So say you go to the business district, have it so one sim can go to the library and another can go to the museum.
And the last thing -- loading screens. I know people are arguing about this in other places, but if something could be done to speed them up (and before anyone yells at me for that, I have an SSD, 12GB ram, and a computer that more than exceeds the other system requirements), that would be great. They're fine at first, but seem to get bogged down after awhile.
All in all, though, the game is fun. But with those few changes, it would probably be my favorite game.
Edit: I wanted to add that the new romantic interactions and animations are wonderful, as are the mini-games for dating and parties.
