Synnica; Yes, the curtains are hideous and very limited. All the furniture is very limited. It is kind of depressing.

Sugarysim: I completely agree. It is actually a little irritating after 153 hours of game time.

I am using CZech version of sims, so it is hard to name things correctly, but certain things are just...

A) 64 bit support would be cool

B ) Bit more optimization towards Nvidia & Ati would be welcome

C) Aspirations are very hard, some nearly impossible
-- One of the love aspirations is bugged, at the step when you have to make your lover angry & then apologize does not work properly
-- Generally the aspiration should remember everything that you have done so far, because to make certain things over and over again is really not entertaining
-- There is one aspiration that says "Read 3 books", then "Read 15 books" & if you did all the books available before, re-reading does not count for it, hence you have to write new ones & then read your own book ?
-- Some aspirations do remember some things that you have done in the past, they do not remember some other stuff, random & very confusing.
-- Be friend with 25 Sims is nearly impossible as it is now. Even when you are in the house with 7 more sims, it still means that you have to invite other people to your house all time.
-- There are aspirations that wants from you to join party events in other house, yet there are no invitations coming up, unless you set them yourself ( I guess )

D) The needs - Constantly I am filling up needs of my sims & even with certain perks, they still need to do certain things far too much & sims EAT LIKE crazy. I got a Sim with both cooking skills maxed, I got oven & fridge fully upgraded, I add "spices?" to my oven & his food meter fills to 70% only. Even with the perk that "he does barely eat" he is getting hungry very soon anyway.

E) There needs to be more sinks & some other furniture as well

F) During conversation with multiple Sims, there is that little box on the top showing status of ONE sim & you can click the little arrows next to it to see what is going on with others, there could be an option to see boxes for each of the sims involved or little meter next to each sim or something alike.

G) The censor blur covers far too much in certain cases & the boxes are far too big, from some angles your sim ( especially women ) gets covered completely. Perhaps have an option that they would wear Swim suit to shower or bath, I do not know.

H) The moods are one giant mess & to fulfill the wishes that comes from current mood is often impossible, IE: Angry sim wants to cool down in shower, you send him to shower which is in nicely decorated room & his mood wish changes, despite the fact that he is still angry as well.

I) The inventory should have few options to sort its self, aka name, category, time of creation or acquire.

J) The radio sometimes does not play songs as a playlist, it instead loops same song over and over, unless you click it.

K) One of the perks gives you an ability to upgrade an object with all upgrades available at one click, however it pops up even if it was already upgraded. If you click on upgrade all, your sim gets stuck forever. If you want to get rid of the "upgrade all" option, you have to buy new item, do not apply any single upgrades, then click "upgrade all", it will disappear, but only for the sim that has made the upgrades ( applaud, really )

L) There could be an option to create "Custom colors" for each object or at least same & matching color swatches for each object.

M) There are bugs that often leaves certain meter present or I was told that my sim is in work, but he was not.

N) Yes, we are still missing swim animations, pools, toddlers .

O) The rockets have totally broken interaction menu, especially with upgrade. Upgrade button should disappear once all the upgrades have been made.

P) There could be an option to never show up certain notifications, I am really not interested in some of them & with an house of 8 active sims, they do nothing else but overlap each other. Also the list could be infinite, if there are limitations needed, there could be an option to delete the oldest once you reach too many.

Q) Little more lots on each neighborhood ? ( but I guess that it would impact already lousy performance even more )

R) Actually an WORKING autosave, with something simple as options....
- Save every 5,10, 20, 40, 60 or user defined minutes
- Save every new day, or every time sim goes to work or w/e
- Save on important occasions
- Rotate 1, 2, 3, 4, user defined autosaves
- When the game crashes ( for no apparent reasons ), the resume button could actually load the last autosave.

Opinions ?

The wood working seems to have very little love for it which is a shame. It would be wonderful if you fleshed it out as its own skill like you have with creativity and each instrument having its own skill. It makes no sense that being able to repair objects should mean you're automatically a master at wood crafts, and vice versa.

That and there are no whims or aspirations for wood crafts!

PROS/THINGS I LIKE:

-I think it's a given but the personalities and the emotions are awesome. It really gives a more in depth feel to what the sims are thinking, why they want certain things after events happen. Even some wants that I would want if I say peed my pants in public. I'd want to hide in bed forever too!

-Definitly loving the multitask feature. Just so. . . *Drool* It probably makes sense why a lot of needs go down a little faster. Need to go pee?? No Problem. Gotta have a drink from the bar?? No Problem! YOU CAN DO BOTH AT THE SAME TIME. I thought that was so amazing. XD

-The CAS is so detailed. The only thing missing now is height adjustment! My sims are actually looking different from each other now besides looking pretty much the same now.

-Building is a lot more fun. I like how simple it's become and how easy it is to make my okayish house look pretty decent lol.

-Promise Rings for teens made me smile. :smiley:

-Sims actually look like they're cooking what they're suppose to be cooking ie. They chop asparagus when they're cooking asparagus.

-The amount of plants! Gardening system is so nice now. Love it.

-Aspirations split into small goals rather than a huge one, and being able to change them at whim. Very nice.


Unfortunately, it seems the Pros are just a few smalls things. So, I'm afraid the Cons list might be a little longer. . .I'll be kind, I promise lol.

CONS/THINGS I DISLIKE:

-Bugs. So many make the game a bit. . unenjoyable. I never had a problem with bugs with Sims until Sims 4. A few feel pretty game breaking. (I got the one where you can't knock on your neighbors' doors.) Also, some of the bugs I've gotten also make a lot of my pros not so pro-ish anymore. lol Many of the Cons I have are actually bug related so lets just bunch it all into one and be done with it.

-Building mode is nice but I feel like there's a huge lack in customization now like being unable to customize the textures of all your furniture and decor. It feels a lot like Sims 2 customization where you just choose and place which was nice at the time but those standards kinda rose with Sims 3. We probably wouldn't mind 3 counter tops as much if the full texture customization from Sims 3 was brought back. lol It totally worked for Sims 2 but there was like a million counter tops to choose from if I remember.

-Mmmm. Pools. Basements. Pool parties were my thing. Also loved making dive bars. I feel like a child was taken from me. I'm sure everyone feels this. Does this also mean if we get a World Adventures type expansion it'll just be large towers instead of deep dungeons?

-Closed World feels too closed. I understand this helps with lag for some but this make exploration pointless now. Takes 5 minutes to skim the largest neighborhood for anything interesting then back to something else. Also load screens are taking a toll. May I suggest different load screens for a bit more variety?

-Community lots don't feel engaging anymore. There's nothing really special to do at them. No new options or gameplay. Better to just take 5 minutes and build a bar area with lots of paintings in your home and drink there as your view your art lol. Multi-task. Yaaay.

- I feel like there's a lack in the careers. While there are some new ones, I feel the core ones that made the sims are missing. I smell an expansion coming?

-Babies match with my decor. I can't pick my babies up and have them go randomly camping outside anymore?! What!? At first, I thought this had to be a bug but slowly I accepted this truth. I was imagining that with the new multitask feature, we could have mom be carrying her baby around while she was doing errands or have baby in her lap as she ate lunch or something. Or even have dad have a joint interaction with baby like have him watch sports and bond with baby. All dads watch sports right? lol But no, baby matches too good with my drapes so I'll keep them there.

-The rest of these are minor Cons:
Can't lock doors so I have guests sitting on my teen sim's beds as she is sleeping. . . Creepy.
Can't assign beds. I had an occasion where my teen sim "Messed Around" with her boyfriend in her parents' bed. O_O Have some respect for personal space, Gurl!
Activities selection seems to be pretty limited now. Can't play console games anymore! Gasp.




So I feel a lot of the issues are coming from comparing Sims 4 to Sims 3. There's a lot of nice features I really enjoy a lot but they're also being shaved down by bugs and other relating things. I also understand that a lot of these things were changed or taken out to "simplify" the game but this is Sims! Complexity is also a part of the game! It makes it so much more in-depth and real. If it means you need more time to develop the game and push it back a bit I'd say go for it!

My overall feel of the game? Mmmmmmmm. Please yell "SEPTEMBER FOOLS!" and tell us this is just an Alpha Test.

I really like the game, to the point that I have a hard time tearing myself away from it.

I really like the multitasking, because in Sims 3 it drove me nuts that my Sims had to wait around forever for someone to stop eating so they could talk. I love the new moods and that you can change a character's mood by choosing a certain type of shower, letting them do something they love, etc.

The small neighborhood sizes don't bother me too much. My Sim wants to be a musician, so I've sent him to the park with his guitar several times, and sent another Sim to the nightclub, and that's enough for me. Even though there are loading screens, you can still go visit your neighbors, which I think is pretty cool.

For those who complain their Sims have no time after work, one of mine is in the Culinary career track, so she can get ahead by cooking every day. By doing that I accidentally found a way to save time. I had her cook enough food to feed the family for a week and put it in the refrigerator. Now when my other Sims come home from work, they just grab a plate from the fridge and eat, then have plenty of time to do other stuff.

There are a couple of things I think could be improved though.

1. I agree with other people who have said the characters' interactions are too low-key, to the point they don't seem to react to each other at all. For example, I had my Sim throw a party, and purposely invited a Sim whom his sister had just had a very unpleasant altercation with at the nightclub as well as his crush, hoping to stir up some drama. The sister started talking to the girl she fought with like nothing had happened, so I tried having her flirt with her brother's crush at the same time as he was. No reaction from her brother, no anger that his sister was trying to steal his crush, the three of them kept talking like nothing had happened. I think that needs to be fixed ASAP, because it just doesn't make sense. Besides, the gameplay would be a lot more interesting if we could stir up drama between characters this way.

2. We desperately need more hairstyles. Some of my Sims do not look much at all like the people they're modeled after because of the hair issues. I'd love to have highlights back. I want my blond Sim to have brown roots since her hair is dyed, but I can't. (This is obviously more minor than the emotion issue but it's still irritating.)

3. The Loner trait is driving me nuts. I have a Sim who is both a Loner and a Romantic, so she constantly wants to flirt but every time I take her anywhere to meet people, she gets tense from having to socialize. Since the Chat feature on the computer doesn't seem to actually get her to meet anyone, I can't seem to make her meet anyone without her having a meltdown over having to talk to people.

4. Speaking of traits, we need more of them. I wish there was a middle ground between Good and Evil, for one thing. I have some Sims who are basically do-gooders but aren't above doing shady things for a good reason, and I can't find any traits to capture this. I also miss the Daredevil trait from Sims 3, and would love to have a Mischevious trait, which I guess is what Goofball is supposed to be. Also I'd like there to be a Worrier trait and some kind of trait for people who feel the need to control others but aren't really Evil. And as far as Aspirations, some of my Sims don't really fit any of the current ones. What about someone whose main aspiration is to help others (which would go with the Good trait)? And finally, even though some traits may seem like opposites, they don't have to be. I don't like that a Sim can't be Good AND Mean, like they want to do good things for others but they have a mouth on them.

5. I agree with whoever said that we should have MORE stages of life, not less. I miss the toddlers even though in Sims 3 for some reason all my adults were freaked out when the toddler cried, so the babysitter would put his hands over his ears and not do anything about feeding or changing the kid and so would the parents when they came home, and I had to reset the poor little one all the time to keep him from dying of neglect. Anyway, I've long thought we should have little kid, pre-teen, older teen, and young adult, middle aged adult, older adult, elder.

6. This is a tiny thing, but I didn't realize my children had homework in their inventories until I clicked on inventory by accident.

7. MORE CAREERS!!! I especially miss the medical career. I also miss the University, though I'm sure that will be in an EP down the line.

I know this list is long but I really do like the game!!! I've been playing non-stop since I got it.

I'm not going to lie, i really hate this game so far and I really really wish I had listened to myself and not spent the $75 for the deluxe +tax on a game I thought was going to be amazing. I really like CAS, but that's about it.
I thought EA would have learned something when they came out with the Sims 3 about what users wanted and what they liked. Being able to access the whole town, not having a loading screen and being able to drive around and move the camera where ever you want. The controls for the camera are flip flopped and it keeps screwing me up. It is not easy to meet other sims, and there is not really anything to do other than things around the house. It is to much like the Sims 2. I've been playing this game for about 10 years now, and i was skeptic about the Sims 3 when it first came out, but after a day I LOVED IT...its been over a week and I still can't stand and have no desire to play the Sims 4. EA, please fix something without charging us an arm and a leg to make the game more enjoyable. For the mean time, i'm going back to the Sims 3.

Didn't the lack of loading screens in Sims 3 cause all the lag? Plus, the game took a long time to load. But yeah, I do miss the city/town.

What you liked:
I loved those pre-made rooms that you guys created! I built a few houses using those pre-made rooms.

I also love the option to create curved roofs and triangular rooms.

The lighting effects are so realistic,compared to the other Sims games.

I like the idea of your Sim going around and finding things like gems and wild flowers to harvest.

The option to turn off aging for the whole game. I never did like having my Sims grow old and die.

No time progression! The time progression in Sims 3 was too realistic and and actually turned me away from getting any more Sims 3 games.



What you didn't like:

The bar,lounge and nightclub. The lounge and nightclub were just deluxe versions of the bar. I would of preferred just to have a bar.

Sims wandering off the lots and disappearing,making me worried that some type of bug wiped my Sims out. I finally found out that the Sims
return home on their own if I waited for a few hours.

What? No eateries,stores or video game arcades? Just having libraries,museums,gyms and 3 different kinds of bars is boring!

Only 3 kinds of music to choose from on the radio and jukebox....and the public speaker only plays ONE kind of music. Boring!

No basements.

The long hair options are severely limited. There's no straight long hair for men or long wavy hair/long curly hair for women.

Having to have specific items just to make things like libraries and gyms. Really-something like a TV in a wild west-themed bar doesn't even make any sense.

Suggestions?
I would love to see an option to create non-Human Sims(animal/human mutants, plant-Sims,etc).

Put in basements. It does NOT make any sense that you could dig down in Sims 2 and 3,but you cannot dig down in Sims 4.

Give us the options to create stores, eateries, zoos,aquariums, video game arcades, circuses.and county fairs.

Make it so Sims cannot wander off lots without you knowing it.

NO time progression! We don't want this to be Sims 3 all over again(you playing one family while your other families marry or move out or die without you knowing it).

Bring back bee-keeping,Claire the Bear and Bandito the Raccoon from Sims 1.

Put actual telephones in the game. I don't like having to click on a little icon on the bottom of the screen just to use the phone.

Make more music options for the radio,jukebox and public speakers(like smooth jazz, calypso, easy listening, 50s rock,etc.)

Give us the option to create our own signs for our businesses(this could be the custom music folder,except you upload pics of things like a sign you made for a church event,garage sale,etc.),and you put it on a building (much like you would put a Sim poster on the wall of your Sim's house).
