I have also heard people complaining about the dances in the game. I found a way around the dough kneading dance that Sims do when happy, etc. I fill the room that has the stereo with Flirty Painting and the emotion enabled. This gives a better dance. I usually fill the room until the emotion bar shows Romantic Decor, Flirty +3. That tends to override all other emotional states. If you want, you can also have your Sims stake Steamy Showers to boost the Flirty Mood. Be warned, watching the girls dance in some skirts and shorts can be mesmerizing ;) (I can watch them dance for hours o:) )
