I have a couple of floor plan books and just love thumbing through them for ideas. You can usually pick them up at the grocery stores near checkout.
One of my fave floor plan sites is the Sears Homes.

Funny you posted that, I recently discovered the old catalogs from Sears and Montgomery Ward. I was thinking about building up the new world with houses from those two. Sears has one of houses built in the 1910's and I thought it would be kind of interesting to focus on that style of architecture. I have the exact same page bookmarked, lol.
We love to go look at antique stores on the weekends, my husband and son are avid gun collectors and my son is focusing on the civil war era weapons. Since where I live it is rich in both revolutionary and civil war ear history? It's a great place for them to bond over a shared passion. For me? I get to go and browse through all the vintage books and find new floor plans.
So, today I am on a mission to find some new books!
The Montgomery Ward houses were called Wardway and they were kits. http://www.antiquehome.org/House-Plans/1925-wardway/
I love that time period style too :).
I was thinking this morning about how I would love to have counters that were suitable for a more run down country type kitchen. We have mostly modern counters in game and the traditional ones look too "done" to me. That old looking stove and fridge in game now is nice for the type of look I want, but I would really like to fill out my kitchen to suit the look better. I usually just use wooden tables as counters but you can't put a sink in them. Hoping to have more options in the future, or to even find something retextured.
