I think if Sims 4 has messed up on so many things it isn't going to get better with Sims 5. That game is not going going to be the huge fix to the issues we have now like Sims 4 definitely wasn't a huge fix on the issues we had with Sims 3. EA/Maxis/Gurus need to find the heart of the game and can't rely on modders to find it.
