Because that's what it came down to. A decision was made to instead of adding the hamster, more pet clothes, this furniture, etc to Cats & Dogs, they decided to add the Vet career. (I only used the vet career once.)
Also, not understanding why we couldn't have gotten everything the first time...
It's odd, because even SimGuruGraham has said that they technically could've added this stuff in the EP, but they didn't because they wanted to add vets instead. It seems to me like that means that it was in the budget to do so but they pushed it off. They have to get that that sounds like they intentionally left stuff out so they could sell it separately later, right?
It sounds to me like the EP budget — and there is no such thing as a product created without a budget, or every company would be out of business with its first product — could fit either the Vet career or small pets. They chose the Vet career. Stuff gets intentionally left out of creative products
all the time (in my job, I'm one of the people who is consulted on what those things should be). You just don't usually hear about it.
