The Sims 4 Seasons

I noticed that my Sims don't open umbrellas in the rain even when I have purchased them umbrella stands. Do you suppose this is because I purchased the "waterproof" trail for them? It says Sims don't get wet. I like the umbrellas and think they're cute, do you suppose it makes a difference, or should I simply not buy that waterproof trait for my Sims? Could it be a glitch like the fact they don't always put on their temperature appropriate clothing unless I direct them to when going out in the heat or cold.

    Once you give a sim the Waterproof trait, they won't have any need for it, because they don't get wet. I'm not going to tell you what you should or shouldn't do for your sims. I will say this, I did give a sim that trait once, and found them to be a little boring afterward. It kind of defeated the whole purpose in my mind.

    Did you have them take an umbrella from the stand afterwards?

    @Kerwinkle I didn't know they could interact with the stand, I just thought that if they had the stand in the house they'd automatically use umbrellas.

    Yep! You can take and put away umbrellas. :)

    beware that the umbrellas are really buggy and you can't remove them without a cheat once you have one.

    I thought you can just put the umbrella back in the same stand you took it out of...or does that not work either?

    I haven't had a problem putting my umbrella back in the stand

    I pretty much only give the Waterproof trait to Sims who are gardeners, so they don't get uncomfortable tending their garden in wet weather. Thought about doing the same for Sims who do a lot of fishing as well, like if they're going for the Angling Ace aspiration.
