That is how they make money unfortunately. If they didn't put anything appealing in a stuff pack they would have no sales.

We do? Honestly, nothing about butlers screams contemporary "city living" to me. I think it would have felt really out of place. Not that I don't have one luxe, old-fashioned apartment that might be able to fit a butler in, but I think they'll get a lot more use by Simmers (me included) in mansions.

Definitely agree, though, that landlines would have been a nice fit! This pack's very 1930s feeling, though - there's still lots of vintage they could explore, like a 1950s-60s-70s vibe, where a landline or newspaper might fit in well.

I don't get how butlers fit in with apartments -- penthouses perhaps but not even all penthouses are high-end. Butlers could have fit well in Get Together with the new larger houses on bigger lots (I think a ghost butler following MImsy and her husband around to clean up after them would have been a nice touch).

How would a butler fit with the theme of City Living?

I think a butler would have fit quite nicely with my rich families living in the Uptown of San Myshuno.

The Thirties and Forties were famous for their detective story writers. I hope that GTW can be adapted to make up some crime stories.

Please, I want that pack, but I won't download anything that threatens to break the custom door locks mod. It broke once and got updated a year ago, but I'm afraid the modder has retired, so there won't be another update. EA doorlocks don't have all the settings I need... losing that mod isn't worth the SP. *goes harbouring gloomy thoughts of betrayal, loss and assorted #firstworldproblems*

There might be someone else who'll take on updating the mod if there's enough interest -- I know someone took on clown's Debug Cheats Mod, and coolspear1 adopted many of Madame Butterfly's mods when she retired.

You're quite right, whatever our oppinion - butlers would have fitted better in another pack :) Whether we think it is CL or GT.. it's the same. Features being spread out more between packs to up the sales.

I hope people aren't seeing my post as a debbie downer, like I said - will be buying the pack!

For a lot less content too. $10 > $20 but still less stuff. Little gameplay objects that add nothing like a bar or chocolate fountain are there to draw customers more and to help you forget the lack of content. But $10 > $20 right? o:)
