The Sims 4 worlds are way too small !!!

There is something off about all the rivers we've seen flowing around the houses...so I wandered off to investigate.
I found this on MTS:
Apparently they make the neighborhoods look bigger by adding decorative houses and roads. The only playable area is the circle with the arrow pointing to it.
