But yes, I do think we really do need 3-4 more years. The game is finally hitting its stride and there's a ton of content that should be added, and that I'm looking forward to.

I know a lot of people think the "core" is irrevocably broken, but I disagree - I think a lot of these so-called shortcomings can be overhauled, and/or upgraded. In addition to new content, I've noticed most of the gameplay has been improving with each pack and update. We just need to keep communicating what we think the game needs.

But there are two things that will never be a core part of the Sims 4, according to the gurus: open world and CAST. So, for those who consider Sims 4 a failure because it is missing those two features, then best to continue playing Sims 3. If those features were to be a part of Sims 5 (if there is to be one) then that is definitely years away, because PC systems won't have evolved enough in the next 2-3 years to take advantage of a Sim game with open world plus all the other things Simmers want without the lag of Sims 3. The only way they could do it is to set the requirements a lot higher, requiring gaming computers, and I seriously doubt EA would do that.

So... yeah, it's going to be a while.
