I'm actually really hoping that, assuming it's The Sims 5, it won't be a hyperrealistic art style. I think the cartoonish style of TS4 allows a lot more fun and creativity, and I think that even today it's really hard to make realistic stuff to look nice. That's my problem with Alpha CC - it looks a little bit like IMVU, and I just find it really unattractive and uninteresting.
It (a realistic art style now) doesn't convey any character or intrigue about the game. It's a boring choice. It'll run poorly on people who don't have higher end computers. Just... meh.
I don't want the same exact art-style as TS4, but if they move towards a super realistic art style, IDK if I'm buying. The art style was one of the main reasons I bought TS4 at release, despite everything else.
