With the success of Sims 4, I honestly don't see EA attempting to cater to Sims 2 and 3 fan bases anymore.
I know it sounds harsh but it's just not feasible for many reasons. It's the natural process of a long running franchise.
I don't really see people anywhere begging for the base game to not have toddlers, pools, basements, ghosts, dishwashers, family trees, party invitations, sliding doors, only one type of stairs, no color wheel, teens the same height as adults/ya/elders and so on again. Even less asking for more emotions and goal oriented stuff. But if you do, point me in the right direction.
