The Sims 5 should be more musically centric

Remember back in the day when games had decent music?

Well not to worry, I have the perfect suggestion. I am going to provide some Hard House to get everything pumping.

Hard House should be the official music style of The Sims

It is not too fast and not too slow either. Averages around a steady 150BPM. The production standards are excellent and there is a great deal of talent and enthusiasm going into it, something that we need for The Sims. The two could go together perfectly well.

My Sims videos

It takes a while to make these but how about have this in TS5 but with better graphics? That would be awesome!

The Sims 3 Beach Party

Your Sims should be able to go to a beach world a bit like Ibiza and they should be able to fly there. Here I used my own world, Simbourne, Isla Paradiso and combined it with Chris C's Freefall, the Beatnix Remix. Arguably one of the finest pieces of music ever written.

'Emily'

Maybe on of my most powerful videos. Made during a day almost a year ago. Here you can really get a feeling from a Sim and feel all of their emotion and pain in just a few minutes.

Nik Denton - Forever People

Possibly one of the finest releases in all of Hard House, this is the original 2008 version (not the even earlier 1993 version) Those dance moves should be in the game and not as a mod!

The Sims 3 Summer Fun - A day out in Simbourne

This is what The Sims 5 should look like 'but with better graphics'

A lot of work went into these over the summer

Build and buy mode?

Now I have decided to do something about build and buy mode music. Here we have a full 2 hour set!

So now we have that covered I think that this should be the direction that The Sim follows amongst other things as despite many good things that we have seen in the past I think that The Sims could only ever hit peak when we can have a group of Sims sitting around listening to Hard House after a night out.

No more Dubstep, no more 'Trap' or 'EDM Drops' or whatever they call it. Hard House should be the real music of The Sims and there is something for everyone!

  • @king_of_simcity7 Music is a universal language and the right music can make a mediocre reverie into an unforgettable experience. Sims 5 needs to procure numerous quality pieces from a variety of genres. And yes, that means bringing back the full library from all pre-existing games along with new material. Why was the option to create multiple custom music stations removed? At the very least, it needs to come back.

But not only that, music needs an even more poignant presence. How about alarm clocks that wake with music stations that the sims themselves set? What about distinctive rings on phones? Why isn't there a SIMTV music channel? If a sim really does have favorite music styles then why don't we see their faces melt to metal? Why don't jazz lovers start scatting? Couldn't an R&B or hip hop lover say "Mmmm" and start bobbing their head? Can't they have a favorite song that both boosts their mood and get them hyped? We should be able to "bookmark" certain songs to their memories whether good or bad or romantic or whatevs.

We need more iconic instruments to learn and play like saxophone and trumpet. Kids should have band class that they should be studying in school anyway. And speaking of bands, the existing playable band system needs a better group dynamic allowing for use of these instruments along with vocalists. Pieces need more thought put into their construction. Genres of music and the band's specialty needs to be set, even if they change over time. This would help dictate the kinda gigs they can land. Moreover, the better musicians need "lead" roles in the band and parts to play that make the audience and fans react accordingly. Include dancers and roadies and agents. And of course a big old run-down Chevy van for fledgling bands to roll around in until they score a tour bus.

You should be able to feel the difference if your sim joins an alternative rock band versus a jazz quartet. And by the way? It's high time our sims got some more "Old World" culture too. Why aren't those venues ever reserved for classical music performances? Wouldn't you like to see a sim conductor flailing his hands before a working miniature sim orchestra?

Really, I could go on and on.
  • With that music I would w never be able to put the volume on while playing since I get headaches from. It.
  • That kind of music is too loud/noisy for me if it was to be the main centered music of the game. But I think there should be more like that kind of music in the stereos. The current ones are not enough. But for the main music, no, it's not for me.
  • Mothersbaugh is The Sims! :#

Music style will certainly be hotly debated. ;)

I would really like to see him come back with a fresh take on it, but still giving us veteran simmers those nostalgic feels.

    Nightlife, my fave.

It will probably be something different.
I hope I like listening to it whatever it is.
  • I think it's too loud for the background music but could be good for radiostations. I prefer the music styles of 2 and 4.
