@king_of_simcity7 Music is a universal language and the right music can make a mediocre reverie into an unforgettable experience. Sims 5 needs to procure numerous quality pieces from a variety of genres. And yes, that means bringing back the full library from all pre-existing games along with new material. Why was the option to create multiple custom music stations removed? At the very least, it needs to come back.
But not only that, music needs an even more poignant presence. How about alarm clocks that wake with music stations that the sims themselves set? What about distinctive rings on phones? Why isn't there a SIMTV music channel? If a sim really does have favorite music styles then why don't we see their faces melt to metal? Why don't jazz lovers start scatting? Couldn't an R&B or hip hop lover say "Mmmm" and start bobbing their head? Can't they have a favorite song that both boosts their mood and get them hyped? We should be able to "bookmark" certain songs to their memories whether good or bad or romantic or whatevs.
We need more iconic instruments to learn and play like saxophone and trumpet. Kids should have band class that they should be studying in school anyway. And speaking of bands, the existing playable band system needs a better group dynamic allowing for use of these instruments along with vocalists. Pieces need more thought put into their construction. Genres of music and the band's specialty needs to be set, even if they change over time. This would help dictate the kinda gigs they can land. Moreover, the better musicians need "lead" roles in the band and parts to play that make the audience and fans react accordingly. Include dancers and roadies and agents. And of course a big old run-down Chevy van for fledgling bands to roll around in until they score a tour bus.
You should be able to feel the difference if your sim joins an alternative rock band versus a jazz quartet. And by the way? It's high time our sims got some more "Old World" culture too. Why aren't those venues ever reserved for classical music performances? Wouldn't you like to see a sim conductor flailing his hands before a working miniature sim orchestra?
Really, I could go on and on.
