Tbh it could go either way.
I’m a bit confused, because the main page for the sound crash bug makes it seem like the QA team know exactly what’s going on, and how to fix it.
However, EA_Blueberry was on here yesterday saying that the fix is “the team’s top priority and that any updates will be added to SimGuruNick’s forum post.” Which implies that there is still some difficulty. I was on here on Saturday thinking yesterday was HotFix drop day, but this gave me extreme pause.
So I’m confused as to what they know, and what they’re doing to fix it. While, I appreciate the current amount of transparency. We definetly need more of it. Like it’s... been a week guys. Bethesda’s launch bugs are a meme at this point (levitating cows), but they get their fixes out with the quickness of a Thanos snap. I understand that the team is small, but EA is a big company and there are millions of players around the world. Even the volunteer (God bless them) on the bug reporting site is, seemingly, exhausted by this mess, and they’re not getting paid for any of this.
If you want to only fix the sound crashing bug, tell us.
If you want to fix that + some of the more annoying bugs (stair routing, cake aging, etc.) tell us.
If you’re having difficulty with finding the source, tell us.
Just... get us involved with this... people have been spending hundreds of dollars and thousands of hours in this game and deserve the right to know a more clear cut ETA, and what the hold up is. I’m sure some folks booked days off and cleared their schedules to play, and the fact that they haven’t heard anything is unfortunate.
As it was said in another forum post about this bug, it’s a pandemic. Europe is back in lockdown, and the US isn’t looking too hot either. I know it’s a game, and it’s not a big deal in the grand scheme of things... — but EA profited heavily off of people bored stuck inside. The Snowy Escape narrator even acknowledged this in the trailer.
/rant over.
