The worst possible couples regarding traits?

I'm planning to make some sort of couple's retreat place where four married couples will go who are the worst for each other.

Like the worst possible combinations of traits. Not like an opposites attract kind of situation or a pairing that's bound to have some annoyances, but more the kind of pairs who really never should have married.

I kind of want to see how they'd interact, I think I'll stick them in the off the grid country retreat for a set amount of time and see if they'll leave with their spouse, with someone else or maybe on their own. I will let them decide how they interact with other sims, I will only tell them to do the interactions that pop up as wants for them.

I am already toying around with a few loose ideas like a good and evil pair, a prankster and a serious one, a flirty and unflirty pair and a loyal and disloyal pair.

It's still subject to change though and it's probably an interesting challenge to toy with for anyone. I'm just trying to find the worst possible pairings, minor stuff can still be tossed in along with it of course since it can all add up, but say, something like slob and neat or lazy and active would not do much because sims are way too nice by default. I'm looking for the most toxic combinations for the best drama.

  • Definitely Bob and Eliza Pancakes will fit the epitome of needing some serious help. They should work out well for this idea.

  • lol!  I added a set of parents and 2 sets of of great grandparents to a family week or so ago, and it’s interesting how badly one set of grandparents get along with each other.  The guy is always dissatisfied with woohoo ( they are both elders ),  and it is kind of funny, some of it probably has to do with attraction, but probably not much as I usually try to make couples pretty compatable that way.  I will have to look up the traits I gave them.

i did a similar type of experiment with traits myself years ago.  I made two brothers and 2 sister.  It is kind of funny how the two brothers acted towards each other.  One brother is mean and evil ( can’t remember the third trait ), and the other one is good and sad ( again can’t remember the third trait.),  When I had them living together as a group, the evil, mean brother (a criminal boss sim) )was always triggering sadness for his good, sad brother  (a gamer sim).   And,  it would make the evil mean brother feel happy when his brother was sad.  But now that they are in separate households they don’t hold so much sway.  They do pretty well together at reunions ( they have a family club).

  • Do you have Growing Together to add the conversation/sim type likes and dislikes? Because a loner genius who hates mischief and potty jokes, but likes outdoorsy sims, paired with a goofball bro who likes small talk and indoorsy things like mixology but dislikes deep thoughts…

  • How about a self-absorbed sim paired with a sim who has one of the less sociable traits.  Likes and dislikes can definitely play a role here too.

    • Hates children - family oriented with the big happy family aspiration
    • 2 self absorbed sims who both dislike self absorbed people

I think this is common in the real! The self absorbed couple..🤣

  • I came up with a list of opposites attract traits:

Life of The Party Sim/ Fear of Crowded Places Sim or Socially Avoidant Sim.

    Low Self-Esteem Sim/ Insensitive Sim.

    Night Owl/ Morning Sim.

    Workaholic Sim/Unemployed Sim.

    Proper Sim/ Shameless Sim.

Health Food Nut Sim/ Junk Food Fiend Sim.

Single and Loving It Sim/ Hungry For Love Sim.

Edit: This was fun! There are so many good/bad traits you can choose from the list can go on. 🙂

Oh I never tried that, does self absorbed make them clash with other self absorbed sims?

I don't have that one, a pity they'd lock something like that behind an expansion. Then again in my experience, the whole like/dislike system seems pretty pointless since they will just go out of their way to another room to hate dance to their disliked music and then be unhappy.
