If the would want to release it this quarter but also announce it at EA play they of course wouldn't want to spoil it in a quarterly teaser. If an EP is coming out this quarter then it's higly unlikely that anything else is being released this quarter, therefor nothing to put in the quarterly teaser.
I hope my theory is right, I quite like the teasers and would hate to see them go.
I like this perspective, but why would they announce an EP part way into the month in which it would be released? that would allow a max of 19 days between announcement and release. So far with EPs they've announced them with a lot more advanced warning than that.
