How they did it in TS2! Stuff outside gets weathered on, good snow/water balloon fight animations, snow accumulations, puddles stay around, realistic weather effects, ability to adjust which 'world' gets which seasons, and so on. Sorry to break the bad news, devs, but not every region of the world has four seasons of equal length. Including where you work! Uncle Sam's canoe club had me in both Long Beach and San Diego for a good while, so I know from experience. Similar experience says that Oasis Springs will have 2 (hot and hotter), Willow Creek (which has a SE USA vibe) 3, Selvadoria 2 (wet hot and wetter hot), Windenburg will get 4 - but winter will dominate. You get the idea. We should be able to tailor the weather to the vibe/region of the planet a given world has, not uniformity - even if tempered uniformity.
