I took a look into the lay-off system again. Original post here.
I found out the following:
Elders cannot get into a lay-off period. While adults can, it won't happen when they have 2 days left until their birthday.
So yeah, good news: if your sim is old enough, they are safe from a lay-off!
It is a great benefit for elders that have a career and also good that sims who will soon have a birthday will not need to be concerned about a lay off @EgonVM 🙂
The incredibly friendly trait works with infants as well!

If you are unlucky you will get the crying baby introduction which result in a small negative friendship level and an angry moodlet.
My Servo was lucky...
Another hilarious thing I found out today is that Servos on hover mode cheat when they jog!
Apparently, exercising the jets is good for fitness
