I'm not sure if Fish can even die in The Sims 4, from my experience they only get rotten.
Most likely you are right. So far, their pump is working fine, although nothing else electrical is working in the house. :cry:
I hope when Pets comes, they'll add more depth to Fish and not just make them a Collection item, same with Insects and Aliens, also Frogs.
