It is random and autonomous. I haven't seen the option anywhere just yet. She just did it again. She really has her eldest daughter Maribell on her mind!! It is a lovely addition. I love little details like this.

That is very sweet. I'm glad they added that. It always seemed odd to me that once a kid moves out, the parents couldn't care less about them.

Maybe a bit off topic, but has anyone else seen that "check up on" interaction? I can't figure out what it is, but my child sims autonomously perform it, specifically after one of their parents returns home from work. They run super fast and go to where their mom or dad is, think of them, and then do a little excited dance with a giggle. I wonder if they're just making sure their parents got home alright? If that's the case, it's adorable. :heart: :smile:

as for the 'check up' stuff, that's usually teens and older running to check up on their toddler family/household members to see what needs they have lowest (and then force them onto the potty if they don't have any low needs...). haven't yet seen children do that, myself. but only played a household with a kid for under an hour since the pack came out (the teenage boarding house is taking up most of my simming time...)

That's "Check Toddler". The new "Check up on" for toddlers & children is different. I saw it for the first time last night :)

I haven't seen gifts yet *or* the OP's new one! I really need to get this legacy family spread out more.

Just a thought but Shay, who did this "think of family member" interaction, has the family-oriented trait so it may make a difference?

Nope! My sim's wife's traits are clumsy, geek, and gloomy with the city aspiration and she has this interaction a lot. I think it just requires having family members who don't live in the household... I do wonder if it happens more if you don't control the sim/don't have them doing anything?

This is an old thread but I thought I'd add what I've discovered. I don't think so because my sim Rose starting thinking of her sister, Audri, who just got married. Audri and her husband Cameron are living with the family until they can afford a place of their own. So I think that the "Think of Family Member" interaction is just meant for sims within the same family who have good relationships with each other. Nonetheless, I think it's such a sweet interaction and it really adds to the little stories I have going on in my head. :blush:
