This is actually insulting: A veteran simmers last straw.

At no point do I not take responsibility for my own choice to keep buying/playing the sims, as angry as I am at EA/The Sims, there is also some anger toward myself for refusing to look at the overall ...

I really cannot see that not liking the way the game is going stops you from playing the bits of it you like. I wish I hadn't bought the last Sims 3 pack, a pack too far for me but I played the rest of it until Sims 4 came out.
