I don't think spiral staircases would have to be difficult -- just have three sizes. The only place they wouldn't work is basements, I suppose, as foundations have variable heights. I don't know; I've been doing building in Sims 3 again, and being able to build platforms in order to make U stairs is a good design. But I wonder if they could do that with Sims 4? There are a lot of people who would love to have platforms, including me, for various architecture things. But a sliding scale platform, much like foundations, that you could attach stairs to in varying directions, would be awesome.
