I'm very curious about what they plan on adding to a "Life and Death" expansion pack. Seems a very broad topic, and by the looks of the announcement with the tarot cards it appears it may lean in an "occulty" direction, which would be a lot more interesting to me than a pack based solely on funerals.
My main hope is that they update ghosts and give them a more solid identity rather than just transparent sims. A "haunting skill" would be fun, allowing them to interact with more objects as they skill up, and perhaps unlocking unique interactions and abilities.
My second hope would be for a "psychic" skill which would allow living sims to see and interact with ghosts. Without this skill your sim will only see the objects a ghost is messing with moving about and they will become scared and run away. As you develop the skill, your sim will be able to both see the ghosts and interact with them in unique ways. This skill would tie in nicely with a new psychic career with a fortune teller and grim reaper branch split.
My third and last wish would be for a graveyard lot type that has cross-pack compatibility with all the occults as well as the spooky holiday goal from seasons. I'd love for vampires, spellcrafters, and werewolves to gain unique moodlets from visiting a graveyard, perhaps even depending on what time of day they visit. During a full moon there should be a lot more activity from npc occults wandering around. One of the graveyard lot requirements should be a mausoleum. This structure will allow you to find any gravestone from a deceased sim as well as be a rabbithole for adventure. Entering will give you chance cards with a possibility of coming out with treasure or as a temporary occult depending on what packs you have in your game. Going in during a full moon increases your chances.
Well this is getting long, but these are my three main hopes and wishes for this expansion. I'm sure we'll also get some more stuff for elders to do (the life part of this expansion) since one of the gurus hinted at it earlier, as well as a funeral event; but I'm less interested in those aspects.
If it's occult leaning, I'm all for it. Although, I would hate if interactions with ghosts are locked to a skill😅. I agree that ghosts should be upgrated in a pack made for Death, I also hope that other occults could have some special features (I cross my fingers for mermaids to finally have their special gravestones)
