I have never done myself in the game, at least I can't remember. For me The Sims is all about my imagination, invented characters and storytelling so putting some real life people in as sims would feel very odd. Soo I don't do that.
Though I played The Sims Medieval long time ago and I made a sim based on my boyfriend. It really looked like him but different name, hair and medieval clothes still made it a fairytail character enough. Funny thing is that I chose that sim a hair with shaved sides and a man bun and after my boyfriend saw the sim he decided to grow similar hair. His hair is still like that, almost ten years later! :D
