To patch or not to patch ?
I have backed up my game Should I patch then wait for the hot fix or wait for the hot fix then play the game ? Will the patch and hot fix go on at the same time I haven’t played my game in a few...

Unless you really want to play HSY when it releases or really want to try out the new game features there is not a huge reason to update... It's probably also more fun to try out the new features with the new pack so you have more body hair and wants and fears, as long as they fix the aging bug.
The patch also comes with potential bugs and features which people have not really been happy with either. Sims use the phone all the time now, there is a bug which causes you to not be able to invite sims from another world to travel with you, the game shows fame points for all sims and the classic cottage living npc's are getting replaced with generated townies.
