toddlers are ridiculously difficult

can we all just agree that the hardest life stage to manage is toddler?

i dread starting families because of how difficult they are to take care of. especially when there's two of them-- my sims recently had twins-- and i'm struggling to provide for the twin toddlers, the two parents AND their other daughter.

i don't know what else to say.. toddlers are just hard. i don't know if i want them to be improved on. i don't know what i'd change exactly. does anyone else? what strategies have other people used when they've had two toddlers at once? some advice would really be appreciated
  • I don’t normally find the toddler stage too bad but for my set of twins in this save I did find them very challenging and stressful (and I’ve had twin toddlers before). I posted a thread on here asking for advice because I was struggling a little. Mine would not stay asleep so we’re always tired so I’m bought them the owl night lamp and have since had no problems with nightmares and sleeping. I put more toys round the house as I only had toys upstairs in their bedroom and nursery so they can be occupied wherever they are. It’s especially good when they haven’t mastered the stairs yet. I put potty chairs both upstairs and downstairs. I also have my sims cook or bake and drag the serving plate onto a coffee table so my toddlers can help themselves as they were always hungry and was a nightmare trying to get them into the high chair to eat. You’ll also want to level up these 3 skills first, potty, movement and thinking. Potty because when they reach level 2 the interaction for them to potty themselves comes up. Movement because on level 2 they can get up and downstairs by themselves and thinking because they have less tantrums.

Honestly my twins were little nightmares and I was gonna she them up as soon as they hit level 3 for all skills but I made the above changes and I’m absolutely loving them!! 1 toddler has just maxed all her skills to 5 and the other just needs a little bit more on thinking and imagination. I didn’t think it would be possible!!

Unfortunately for me I’ve also now got a set of twin babies in the same household who are about to age up (I’m keeping them as babies as long as possible xD as I couldn’t manage 4 toddlers). Lucky me!!!
  • Btw even though I was stressed with my toddlers they definitely are 100% better than TS3 toddlers and a lot more enjoyable once you get the hang of them. I was struggling to take care of my adult sims needs especially with them both working so I did have them take vacation days to cope but now they both work (luckily when 1 is at work the other has their normal days off).
