They even talked about the Faux vampires. The team that made the gp is who played it. Seems to me they'd know what they programmed it to do.
I have been playing with the vamps since they came out and as I said the only vamps I have in game besides the 3 that came with it I added. All of them live in Forgotten Hollow.

@TheSimScraper @SimGuruMegs No on/off switch, but Vampirism only spreads when you (player) do it. So no swarms of Vamps invading your worlds
Curious if you have natural aging on or off? Because saw somewhere it was suggested that it could be issue for some us who have the aging toggled off, that game generate a lot of townies that probably would been intended to make possible to prevent a population decline as sims grow old and die, but with aging toggled off you will eventually have to delete some in order to prevent overpopulation and lag at least that's how it feels to me.
But been suggested that this might be causing vampires to be generated to fill out odd jobs like vendor jobs, bartender and etc that townies usually handle. So may if this is true be mostly a strong given problem for us not using auto aging because there some sims we might not wish to see get old and die?
