toggle on/off vampires

Can we get an option to toggle on/off vampires in the game? I would love to try them out but I don't want them in the main game. As a builder I would love to get also all stuff from the pack so " no buy" is not applicable here. With the toggle players who love vampires would enjoy them to the fullest and those who don't will be spared of them and enjoy new furniture etc.. for their Victorian themed or other houses and this way most of the players will be happy :)

This is me too. I see it's 25% off, which is tempting but I just want the hairstyles, fashion and furniture without the vampires. If only it were a goth pack instead.

  • I think you're the one who doesn't undersrtand the toggle, no offense intended at all.

Vampires are completely intergrated into the game like never seen before. The new world cannot function without vampires, it is specifically designed to spawn them.

Vampires are coded to generate if Vlad dies or is removed to fulfill his role, there are also break ins etc.

The way its designed is if you dont want vampires, dont interact with them. That means delete the premades, dont visit forgotten hollow, dont talk to vampires, dont study vampire lore.

You will still see a vampire here and there at night, but they should RARELY break into your house, and far less will be generated. If you interact with vampires it shows youre interested.

If you want absolutely zero vamps then people need to not purchase.

This isnt going to change, as pointed out by a guru. The guru himself stated it would cause alot of issues as vamps are deep into the code.

    This, so much this.

Actually, your assumption is not true. I do nothing to interact with the vampires what-so-ever and still get break ins. I consider them knocking on the door as a break in. I consider seeing them around anywhere other than their dark world as a break in.

Sorry, but how is a vampire just walking through a neighbourhood, a break-in? Especially since they're just walking through the neighbourhood, going NO WHERE near where you sim lives and them knocking on the door is just the same as any normal walk-by NPC visit.

so does that mean that you consider seeing a sim from Windenburge knocking on your door in San Myshuno as a break in? Or a sim from Oasis Springs walking into the Caffe in Willow Creek a break in?

No offence meant, but your logic is kind of weird.
  • Regardless of what you consider, vampires knocking on doors or being given jobs or walking around is part of the game mechanic. The entire purpose of the game pack was to add the "unwanted" life state to the game. It's right there in the name. From all the comments you've made on the subject it really seems like you'd be happier uninstalling it and using CC to replace the build/buy items you like.

I consider the vampires being/standing on my property as breaking in. They are not welcome. They have no reason to visit any of my Sims. I even avoid them if the game decided to give them a npc job like at a food stall, restaurant, bartender, etc. Luckily, I found a mod that now works and shuts off their ability to use powers. It was a couple weeks of the game being unplayable before that. MCCC is already set to -1 on vampires so my game should not generate more if they die. I do see random Sims knocking on my door as unwelcome, just like I see random people IRL doing the same as unwelcome. No visits are welcome unless I invite over.

I still like the build/buy to make fixer upper homes, but expected to be able to get rid of the unwanted lifestate in my game.

Seeing the vampire NPC's in jobs, or walking through the neighbourhood is just them following the same programming as every other NPC. It's how the game works.
As for the build/buy options, they're just set dressing, it's not like what a real "fixer-upper" home would be in real life or in a proper simulation. Since you/your sim can't actively pour money into the homes to improve them.
I honestly think the best solution for you is to remove the pack entirely and live without your set-dressing items because basically you are standing in a fire and complaining that it's hot.
  • Toggle features are wonderful and if what has been posted by Simmers, stating that the Guru’s are saying it will never happen in The Sims 4, that is simply a shame that we cannot have that type of control over our games.

Vampires in the Sims 4 have been more fully fleshed out & can be a great deal of fun to play, however they sometimes feel poorly executed, an example of the random break in issue that other players have brought up, or vampires pretty much killing themselves out in the sunlight.

A toggle option feature harms NO ONE. It puts YOU in control to allow or not allow things to happen within your world, your creation, your game. Like I said, it’s simply a shame that it will not be an option for The Sims 4.

I’ve seen the mod links & that is great for those who mod. But with modding, you constantly need to keep up to date with patches which attempt to fix bugs or add new content to the growing game.

There’s no harm in people wanting to have more control over a sand box game & this is the place to make it known, for this game & perhaps for the future of this franchise.

    Happy Simming <3
