- i_love_frogs_112 years agoSeasoned Aceokay i just saw the actual photo of the map leak with the lot builds and sizes....im sorry but i don't understand their choices here at all. two 20x15 and two 20x20?? Only one 40x30, and two 30x20. and um....where is the build shown in the trailer with the pool on the roof? i didn't see it there. Either this map is not fully correct or they made a building just to show it off in the trailer.
I've seen people saying "the lot sizes dont matter" but like.... for the new lot type it does. like if you use up all ur larger lots in the world and only have the 20x20 or 20x15s, you definitely cant have a pool space and maybe barely even any shared spaces, because we have to take into account that the game design limits how much of the lot you can use, the last surrounding tile on lots are not usable to build on. My disappointment has raised again :( - crocobaura2 years agoLegendI am in minority here, but I am happy at the smaller lot sizes, they will be great to build community lots on them, restaurants, bars, etc. You can definitely build apartments on them too, with a pool and a small garden on ground floor and even a shared space for a gym or laundry room, etc. in the basement area, and then build apartments on remaining three floors and maybe even add a shared terrace on the roof. The idea with apartments is that you build up and not spread out over a large area, maybe they had this in mind when they designed the lot sizes.
- i_love_frogs_112 years agoSeasoned AceI like those for community lots too, but it still feels limiting. especially if i want that to be the world my family resides in. i wouldn't want only their building and then one other apt building, it'd feel weird and empty. I tend to use a lot of community lots in each world for my sims to have variety so that i don't get bored as quickly and i dont like to break immersion so i dont just have my sims hop from world to world, except for willow creek, magnolia promenade, and newcrest as I feel like those are all extensions of one another. I'd really like it if one day they make a pack with no world and solely focus on gameplay. Our sims need more lot types and more hobbies and more random activities to do.

You can build tall apartment houses on 20x20... I think I have a downloaded one in the gallery but I had to pretty much remove all decorations around the house so it didn't look great. That doesn't leave a lot of lots left, 20x15 lots often feel very limiting to me and I'm not going to bulldoze the park. And one 30x20 and the 40x30 lot also seem to have the connecting road on the short side... which will make apartment blocks look weird.
Yeah uh...I'm sorry Maxis. I don't feel very creative these days and these limitations doesn't really help... - leucosiax2 years agoSeasoned Acehttps://live.staticflickr.com/65535/53359428984_b4b433e112_k.jpgworld by leucosia x, on Flickr
yes if this leak is correct, https://twitter.com/SimGuruAnon. all of the lots are too small for what I was intending to make. - leucosiax2 years agoSeasoned Acehttps://youtu.be/jC5LMvMNxpQ?si=D2Sd7cc6zJORZpT7
There are some beautiful video gifs SimGuru Ninja posted on X regarding the world of Tomarang on Thanksgiving.
Only finding out about it now, as Iron Seagul made a short video about it.

I am not seeing the botanical gardens or the animal sanctuary, so they are definitely not lots, which is a bummer. But the icon of the second neighbourhood shows a tiger so maybe the sanctuary is indeed for tigers. I have a feeling these will be neighbourhood space locations similar to the temple in Mt. Komorebi and the gardens in San Sequoia, you can walk around them but there aren't many interactions or things to do there. I was hoping to see real tigers our sims can interact with, maybe even a tiger lot challenge where a tiger randomly shows up and scares our sims. - Simmerville2 years agoLegendUhm, I agree there could have been at least ONE larger lot in Tomarang. But I'm generally fine with the smaller lots. I'm planning to have just one rich family residing there, so the 40x30 is taken already, and generally I made up a local culture where ppl focus on their spiritual life rather than materialistic. Well, the majority that is - because the Mansion Baron aspiration also exists in Tomarang... ;)
But, you guys seem to forget that we already got tons of other worlds where you will find many large lots. Rental units will work just as well outside Tomarang, so just because this world comes with this new feature, doesn't mean that all new content must be played out in Tomarang, only. I'll keep the spiritual/tourist/very Asian stuff in this world, while landlords will be more common in say Del Sol Valley and Copperdale. Why not...
Thanks for posting the map with lot details, now my planning can speed up! - i_love_frogs_112 years agoSeasoned Aceyes i am well aware of the other worlds haha. i’ve been building up a save with lots from the gallery for this pack specifically, but if they are going to center a pack around this lot type, it’s be nice to get more space in the world the pack comes with, especially because it’s based around a specific culture and climate. the builds i would have in Tomorang are extremely different aesthetically that the ones in, let’s say, willow creek. so that’s the fault i see with the lots sizes.

Well dang. If the largest lot is 40x30 then neither of the apartment buildings @FatTribble23 and @lori171957 built will fit in the new world. ? I was sure we'd get a 64x64. I'm going to try to recreate one of them to fit the 40x30. Or maybe look for a three floor build that will accommodate two apartments on both the 2nd and 3rd floors with common areas on the 1st floor.
I can make it to suit a smaller block, and I have been building on blocks as small as 15 x 20. I will be uploading them all as soon as the pack releases and I can see how the individual unit settings work. I will work on it in the morning when I get up. Strangely enough it is easy to make them on small blocks. ?
