I want to be wrong, but I feel like this is going to be a small world. I noticed that they didn’t mention any neighborhood names in the blog post. And that the trailer the seems to show the same neighborhood or two neighborhood. I’m not sure.
Isn’t that how the first trailers usually go? They have a separate world trailer later on. But I agree, I think it will be small. They’ll probably say they did it to focus on the apartments and their building mechanics- FreddyFox12342 years agoSeasoned AceI’m pretty sure the animal sanctuary will be a rabbithole. Given how many simmers like animals, they surely would have shown any new animals if there’d been any to show.
- Karamazov1232 years agoSeasoned AceThe world looks nice, but I feel like it would stand out more if we didn't have worlds with similar elements. San Sequoia also had rounded pier areas by the city, and it even had a shell house by the docks. The city parts we see don't seem very metropolitan, it's like San Sequoia and Mt. Komorebi, where it has city-like areas that are largely empty and simple, and don't feel like an actual city city, know what I mean? Aside from the architecture and lanterns, it reminds me a lot of worlds we got recently.
The Night Market looks to be pretty much what was expected: a bunch of stalls in an area. It's nice to have a little market with multiple stalls, but considering the game is already filled with stalls, it doesn't feel all that unique. It looks like a regular festival, except it happens every night. I wasn't expecting some sort of wild party with a ton of new gameplay or anything, you can only do so much with the concept. But it's more of the same old, same old. Would have liked to see buskers and street acts or something.
But the jungle area looks cool and very distinct from Jungle Adventure. And the architecture is really pretty. Overall, it's a pretty world. I hope there's more to it than what was shown here, because I'm interested in moving many of my sims here. - crocobaura2 years agoLegend

I love the night market, it's what you would expect in an Asian city. Hope they have a stand for fake merchandise. - ripgisela2 years agoNew TravelerI am so glad to finally get a non-American world again. Like I am an American, and I could talk all day about how many different landscapes we have in different parts of the country, but at this point it is getting to be too much even for me. I'm hoping the next few worlds are also of different countries. I'd love to see an African or Australian world, or maybe even a Nordic world.
- SilentK0082 years agoSeasoned AceHow hyped I am for this world depends a lot for what the jungle looks like and if there is a lot or lots that we can build on. We will see what happens.

@AncientMuse My biggest point of interest is the animal sanctuary. It does looks like she is holding a badge, as if in a leather wallet holder, like a cop, which made me think she works in the animal sanctuary. I imagine purchased vistor passes would be plastic or paper, ...but who knows.
The building behind her does not appear to be not playable building. I hope I'm wrong and they did not make the animal sanctuary to be a rabbit hole. ?? I mean that would be the best aspect of the game, the animals. A missed opportunity like the Equestrian center in Horse Ranch for some of the most rewarding gameplay.

@leo3487 Animal Sanctuaries are supposed to protect animals and in Thailand, there are a lot of them for wildlife. There are different types but the better ones are more incorporated in their natural habitat like a safari. More exploitative type have them behind and electric fence, and silly circus like shows.
I had a friend who posted photos of herself on social media riding a baby elephant like a horse, in an animal sanctuary in Thailand, and while and incredible photo opportunity, many felt forcing animals to give rides to tourist is exploiting the animals and they are not saving. They are just using them to profit.
I think in the USA, animal sanctuaries can be for rare species going instinct, in some cases, and in other cases rescued livestock farm animals. I was always hoping to start one in game, myself. - Lonewolf10442 years agoSeasoned AceThis so far, the first pack I am really interested in and I might just play Sims 4 again after months of not playing. Also, I like the world that is offered.
- DaWaterRat2 years agoSeasoned AceI know people are going to disagree with me, but I honestly think that the Animal Sanctuary being a Rabbit Hole (which I'm almost certain it is) is actually a good thing.
First and foremost, it means that the animal sanctuary will neither be a drain on system resources nor effectively empty of sims except for the ones you bring. Even if they increased the 20 sims limit, having all those animals about would probably force the game to cut down on the number of sims that show up.
Second, it means that we get more assets for the city/build-buy/CAS, because they didn't have to create and animate the animals in the sanctuary. I know a lot of people think that the packs should just be given the budget to have everything that we (the players) think should be in the pack, but that's not how it works. There's a fixed maximum of assets and systems and work hours assigned to a pack based on its size, and while I'd certainly love animals, I don't want them enough for other assets to be removed in exchange.
Now, all that said, there may be ways they could get around it, and at least one developer on the pack has a history of getting more into a pack than previously thought possible. And if they did make it actually visitable, I'd love it. But I'm not expecting it, and I can certainly understand why they would make the choice to leave the Animal Sanctuary as a rabbit hole. And in the long run, I'm okay with it. - Instead of animated animals they could use sfx ones similarly to the Komorebi and Selvadorada wildlife attacks. I could imagine that a sim in possession of that badge is able to trigger wildlife encounters and once that encounter has played, a scared animal appears in their inventory (a picture like the robotics mechanism) that they can then bring to the sanctuary. It's not what I expect or demand, just in idea what might be/might have been.
