I don't have expectations with The Sims anymore. They say we're getting "Trait Improvements" when in reality they give us a lame coffee pot with a plumbob on it.
Hey I could use a coffee pot with a plumbob - Kimmer_oneRising Traveler

I just can't bring myself to think they will do much to it. Bookworms actually preferring to read books autonomously? Mean sims spontaneously being mean? Etc etc. It would make me so SO happy, but I'm not holding my breath.
My mean Sims are being spontaneously mean even now, but I'd really love it to happen more often. Sadly, if it happens I can just see a lot of players getting upset about it and complaining how their mean Sims are now being too mean and then it will be nerfed back to what it was. The usual. :| - HermitgirlNew SpectatorI'm waiting to see also. I don't use mods and don't really like the ones I've tried that work with their personalities so just going to see what happens. I don't want the game to do an about face of any kind that's for sure. I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised and that whatever comes will work for me.
- Witch ever going to fix hoping is jealous is one cause its jealous way off cause wanting attention isn't jealously that's attention seeker But would love to use jealous trait if they fix this. Cause The first time using it thought to be jealous it's bf/GF loving someone else? but nope get jealous not pay attention to them.
- CAPTAIN_NXR7Seasoned VeteranI’m curious about the traits improvements.
I would like to see sims being able to develop traits over time but in order for that to work in a meaningful way the entire ai and emotion system needs an overhaul. I also don’t mind the addition of moodlets as long as their description is also reflected in the sim’s actual behavior.
Basically I’m hoping for more “show don’t tell” in TS4.
Looking forward to seeing what this is all about. - elliebretonSeasoned Ace

I get my mean sims to do mean stuff and as soon as I look away they are pally with whoever they were just mean to.
But you're probably right about complaints lol. Those people could just try not choosing the mean trait though ? - No idea, but it better be good or else it isn't worth kicking up speculation and sending expectations every whichway by announcing it a day before without any details. I hesitate to even speculate because whatever I imagine could be drastically different from what they mean and I don't want to waste my energy on the letdown.
As you can probably tell, I'm not a big fan of vague announcements. - Sure you can be optimistic but you can also be prepared in case as this development team have known to do in the past, come out with something very disappointing, it wouldn't be the first or last time this EA team couldn't be bothered to do something really good for this game or community.
The last two anniversaries were complete disappointments, recent packs have been half-baked and lacking attention to detail, especially certain features that are still bugged or may be addressed at some point, or just lacking in general content-wise as if the team have given up trying to do anything with quality and resort to the path of least resistance in quantity. Preparing for such disappointment would be a wise idea especially considering there is a proven track record.
Will i be interested or show any type of looking forward to these trait improvements? That is unlikely, same with the bunkbeds. i can't help but know that it will be a disappointment. It's such a shame that EA are on the path they are, i know the developers would probably want to showcase their talents and abilities, but they aren't able to and are limited further by internal deadlines, so we don't really get to see the best they can offer. - Sigzy_29New SpectatorWell they've never really done trait improvements before, so it's a huge step forward for this development team. I hope these improvements are substantial.
I'd like to see the trait moodlets have an increase in value from +1 to +2. Mean sims preferring to autonomously do mean interactions, angry sims loosing relationship points when targeted with mischief interactions besides getting angry, "adventuring" moodlet for adventurous sims while doing snow sports or while exploring the temple in selvadorada and being bored while watching tv or playing video games, etc.
