I would like to draw the attention to the following, especially if you are new to -at the very least - cottage living and are not playing the game in english.
I noted quite a lot of complaints of people unable to submit their pies for the pie competition and/ or certain errands, even now that cottage living is out for a while.
Today I found out that in my dutch game, both "cake" and "pie" is translated with "taart". So, when I was asked for a "chocolade taart" by an NPC, I got frustrated for not being able to give it. It turned out that it was because I made a chocolate cake instead of a chocolate pie (the chocolate cake is quit high in the list, whereas you have to scroll down quit a lot to find the chocolate pie) without realising it.
Consequently, it could also be frustrating when you try to enter the "taarten wedstrijd" with your "taart" that is actually being a cake and not a pie.
I do not know if this causes other problems with other expansionpacks, because I only own cottage living and eco lifestyle.
I already report this with EA NL, but I can imagine that there are other languages where these problems occur when the translators choose the wrong translation (if you type in "taart" in a dictionary, you get indeed cake or pie as an answer, but by the looks of the picture, for the sweet pie versions one could also choose "vlaai" to distinguish from "taart").
Since I did not see anyone mentioning this, and nobody was really saying in which language they play the game, I thought it would be wise to share this information, to prevent stress over another bug, which is actually a translation mistake.
Thanks for the heads up. I will make sure to get the right kind of
'taart'. The suggestion to use 'vlaai' however doesn't sit right either because 'vlaai' is always sweet while English pie doesn't have to be. Today my sim had the option to make pumpkin pie (pompoentaart) and that can't be translated as vlaai.
It is an annoying translation issue, just like the bosbes which I already knew about.
