I didn't like sending things to the Geo council since it was too RNG for me and I have terrible odds as is, so I just used that chemical analyzer thing. It's much faster with a scientist since you can just loot everything off the science lab lot (which makes so many! And your co-workers just fork over whatever you need)
Plus you can clone things just in case if you lose things or if you're really unlucky.
