I would prefer this to be patched in. It's a little bit unfair for them to let us buying these features which should be the "mandatory" features that help us to make our Sims unique as per what they want us to think. Imagine if initially we're being "force" to buy a pack that give us toddler, ghost or the pool. I bet it would have a massive backlash. Moreover, any other packs should only have stuffs that enhanced & integrated with existing features & other packs.
