TS4 Just Acting EP?
Get Famous look awesome so far, especially the world and all the acting depth. Still... this hollywood recreation is missing a recording studio for singers, and a stage to perform on. Literally two ob...

I think most people will get answers to how it works and things added as long as they watch the 11/2 Live Stream that explains how Fame and Reputation works - and how they applied it to packs you already have.
I feel like more of this should have been shown in the reveal trailer itself.
It focused entirely on the acting career, and then we are getting Tweets saying that the pack is actually about fame itself amongst all of the careers. Doesn’t make much sense to me.
Yes, because they are selling a system and one career.
Not much left to show. What you see is what you get.
If this pack was ''packed with content'' and tons of new stuff (not fluff (chairs and tables) but actual gameplay content) they would have shown it in the initial reveal trailer.
Even so, we haven’t really seen much of that system at all — or how it impacts other jobs/careers, which is what a guru said is a huge part of the pack. The “trailer” was pretty much just showing off acting content and crazed paparazzi.
I like the idea of a fame EP, but don’t forget we got it in TS3 along with an entire open city, penthouses, dance clubs, apartments, bands, bars, vampires, butlers, and a whole bunch of other content. If you’re going to separate a concept like fame into its own expansion pack, I would hope it would be crammed with content, and not just a career.
That sounds awesome. What did you get to do as an actor in TS3?
We're talking about the fame system here, which, according to gurus, is the main focus of the pack, yet absent from the trailer of what seems to be The Sims 4: Get Acting. And if it's anything like GTW's careers, it'll only be remotely entertaining for the first play-through. The Sims Studio really doesn't design careers, even acting careers, with much replayability. For instance, if I make 2 Sims, both doctors, they will be unable to show up to work at the same time, I will be doing the exact same interactions when the game basically tells me how to play, and they will move up the ladder in the same exact way.
You can ignore the suggested actions and do whatever you want your doctor to do. You're not tied into that feature. And your sim will progress, not as quickly, but progress nonetheless.
That's not the solution at all. Ignoring the constrictive, anti-creative check boxes in the corner of the screen will barely promote your Sim once, and you will also be locked out of special career-related interactions because of it. Not to mention a Sim will pretty much die before they max the career, so this is pretty much the opposite of how the career is supposed to be played.
Imagination and ignoring bad gameplay design doesn't fix a thing.
Every game you buy has it's own rules and restrictions on how gameplay works. That's the contract you enter into when you buy a game. If you don't agree with all that, don't buy the game. If you think you can do better at creating games, learn how to do it and create a better simulation game. Failing that, apply to be a Game Changer and try to make this game in your image. If you're not willing to do either, then keep posting the negatives you want changed but aren't willing to change yourself and I'll keep posting all the positives for those that want real information about the pack. Happy simming.
Every game has its own rules and restrictions on how gameplay works, true. Not all of the time are the rules and restrictions fun and exciting to manage. And a game telling me what to click, exactly when to click it, is a terrific example of a badly designed system in my eyes -- and that, in essence, are, objectively, what The Sims 4's GTW careers are like. The vet career is pretty different, and better received from the community. I wonder why? Hmm.
Nobody has, or should have, to become a game changer to influence change in the game. The forums exist for the community to primarily share gameplay experiences, provide feedback, and influence game development. It's okay when somebody doesn't find your favorite game to be as perfect as you think it is :)I'll keep posting all the positives for those that want real information about the pack.
Telling people to ignore how the game is designed to be played if they don't like it does not qualify as 'real information'. The bulk of your post I've quoted is very arrogant and dismissive.
