TS4 Medieval Expansion?

Personally, I would love if they introduced a taste of the Medieval to TS4, including a separate world that fits the criteria (older styled houses, dirt/cobblestone paths instead of roads, etc) so that it does not break the immersion of having medieval elements mixed in with the modern worlds.

I had an interesting idea, though. Similar to the way the Political career is run, it would be awesome to give players the ability to raise up a King/Queen. For example:

The future potential ruler could gather support from the unplayed households and as they gain more favor and popularity, their status jumps higher and higher until they become a ruler. Then, as King/Queen, they are given an advisor who comes periodically throughout the week and asks the player questions which the player then has to make a decision and depending on the decision, the ruler's popularity increases/decreases (similar to how, in the Parenthood expansion, a parent's advice for a child may positively affect their manners but decrease their emotional control).

Being a King/Queen would most likely replace the need for a job as running a kingdom is surely a job in its own ;) But to still get income, the decisions the ruler makes each day impacts the kingdom in a positive or negative way, thus, it could also affect the amount of money the ruler gets in order to rule the kingdom and support the castle (aka you and your family)

To me, with the upcoming release of Get Famous, with the inclusion of bodyguards (maybe it's bouncers, I've heard mixed opinions lol), this opens the door to allowing a lot of potential for a Medieval expansion pack, too. Like you could establish knights around the castle that keep out pesky "fans" or people trying to take over the kingdom by force. Plus the knights could be NPCs so that you don't have to worry about knights taking up a slot out of the "8 members only" household.

Those are some of the ideas I have so far :) Of course, if Maxis ever did make a Medieval pack, it may or may not be similar to this, who knows.

Anyone else interested in a potential Medieval pack? And do you have any ideas you'd love to see included in the pack?

Bodyguards? I thought there were only bouncers at specific doors added to Get Famous?

My sim had a bodyguard show up when he did a meet and greet I'm pretty sure

I would love to see a sims Medieval expansion. But I am looking more to being off the grid, farming with farm animals, period outfits and like someone said Medieval roads. A great pack to add horses and wagons and Dragons too, even witches. I am not interested in popularity and status in the pack however, I want the pack more open ended. It would be nice to have several peasant outfits as well as several more royal looking outfits. We should be able to have the castles as well as small huts. An old fashion cooking pot in the fire place. And being able to make jerky, and less perishable meats and such. A black smith that can make horseshoes and swords.

)They’d also have to make the medieval world a no technology zone, so you couldn’t have mobile phones, cars, televisions etc.

With how much mobile phones dominate gameplay, removing them would require a major overhaul. Even the UI would have to change.

That's one of the the reasons I would want a standalone.

That would be interesting and it will be great if the Sims/NPC can change their outfit according to the world theme too! :D

Yes to this! CAS would be very cool with medieval outfits.
  • If the devs team made a The Sims Medieval version for the Sims 4, and make it according to what is popular for a medieval simulation games, all while adding in the Sims 4 flavors, this would be an awesome pack, or perhaps they could just make it a separate game the way they did the original TSM except, make it TS4 style without so much rabbitholes, and make it to where we don't have so much limits like the way TSM was.
Don't get me wrong, I loved TSM A LOT, but it was way to limited, and it the whole "rabbithole" issue was a bit of a controversial, what with people complaining about it so much in TS3 (well, at least I remember people complaining about it anyway).
This would be an awesome idea, none the less, and I really hope that the dev teams do try and explore this concept. Or at least do a community vote to find out if any of the fans are interested. I really LOVE when they do those votes for packs!
  • Well, given SV I'd say yes, make it the reverse of TS3 ITF, TS4 ITP (Into The Past)

I would pass on it as Sim 4 has restrictions and so will the pack even if it is an standalone.
  • I'd like a time travel EP where we can go to medieval times or futuristic.
