I do hope they have this, as I think the game should be inclusive, and have diversity. Maybe they pair off by relationship status, invited by pairs/partners, otherwise, maybe someone just was too focused on the trailer ballroom reel being traditional (as trailers are very choreographed), and they over looked same sex ball room pairing?

I believe you can simply make whoever you want to dance. At least your actively sim should be able to choose partner, whether that partner appreciate the invite is a different question 😆

Edit: Hm, in a very strict community it ought to cause a scandal, depending on the rank of those involved. Would be cool if the monarchs can state how old fashioned/openminded they want to rule. I mean a medieval kingdom might handle this differently than a modern kingdom.
